A versatile cellist with a mind for new and interesting sounds, Rachel Icenogle loves to explore the tonal palette of her instrument. She performs solo as Sbowe and is the composer and musical director for puppet shows with Company Aiello. Rachel is a former member of the bands Upholstery (Philadelphia, PA), Cast Shadows (Philadelphia, PA), and John the Savage (Milwaukee, WI). Specializing in multi-disciplinary projects and improvisation, she has collaborated with theater, dance, film, and storytelling makers in the USA and Italy. Rachel also frequently records cello and arranges music for bands and theater underscoring. Her first full-length album, Bat Hat, is set to release on March 1, 2024. With a passion for the unique and unexpected, Rachel sets herself apart as a performer, always seeking opportunities to diversify and discover new artistic expression.
